Andrus Anderson Files Nationwide Age Discrimination Case Against HP

On August 18, 2016, Andrus Anderson LLP and their cocounsel filed a nationwide age discrimination class action, against Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. and HP Inc. (collectively, “HP”)  on behalf of older workers who allege they were unlawfully laid off because of their age during implementation of the company’s Workforce Reduction Plan (“WRP”). The case, Forsyth, et al. v. HP, Inc. and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company, was filed in the San Jose Division of the Northern District of California.  “The complaint alleges that HP made concerted efforts to replace older workers with younger employees using its Workforce Reduction Plan and other tactics while, at the same time rolling out a company-wide policy requiring that 75 percent of new hires be recent college graduates or ‘early career’ employees,”  said Andrus Anderson partner, Jennie Lee Anderson, who represents the Plaintiffs and the proposed class.
