Andrus Anderson Files Consumer Class Action Lawsuit Against VW for Fraudulent Emissions Software

For years Volkswagen marketed a line of “clean diesel” vehicles.  But the company recently admitted that its 2009-2015 diesel Jetta, Passat, Golf, Beetle, and Audi A3 vehicles were installed illegal software designed to deceive federal and state emissions testing. Andrus Anderson LLP has filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of consumers seeking compensation and injunctive relief for Volkswagen’s fraudulent conduct. Volkswagen’s illegal software switched pollution controls “on” during emissions testing and “off” during normal driving. When the vehicles are actually driven, they can emit ten to forty times the lawful amount of nitrogen oxide—a pollutant that contributes to smog and serious health problems.  The following classes of vehicles equipped with diesel engines may be affected:

  • 2009-2015 Volkswagen Jetta (including the Jetta Sportswagen)
  • 2010-2015 Volkswagen Golf (including the Golf Sportswagen)
  • 2010-2015 Audi A3
  • 2012-2015 Volkswagen Beetle (including the Beetle Convertible)
  • 2012-2015 Volkswagen Passat
