On Monday, October 16, 2017 in San Francisco, attorney Lori E. Andrus will join three other distinguished panelists on the topic of equal pay litigation. The Continuing Legal Education program will cover the impact of California’s recent Fair Pay Act legislation on equal pay litigation.
Lori Andrus and Jennifer Reisch, of Equal Rights Advocates, will discuss recent equal pay cases and employment law developments related to the California Fair Pay Act. Lori Andrus was the lead plaintiffs’ attorney in the nationwide Farmers Insurance gender pay discrimination class action lawsuit. Jennifer Reisch is the Legal Director at Equal Rights Advocates and aided in the passage of the Fair Pay Act in 2015.
The panel will also include two economists, David Neumark and Dwight Steward. Mr. Neumark is a Professor of Economics at UC-Irvine who has performed extensive research on wage disparity issues. Dwight Steward, Principal Economist at EmployStats, has performed statistical analyses in major employment discrimination class actions across the country.
Mr. Neumark and Mr. Steward will discuss the Fair Pay Act and the use of statistics in recent cases and implications for use in future employment litigation.
